Episode 15 with Esperanza Phoenix

Esperanza Phoenix is an artist, both performing and visual. Her father was a Native American artist/ actor and allowed her to paint as soon as she could keep the paintbrush out of her mouth. Esperanza spent weekends on visitations traveling the powwow circuit and helping her father sell his art. This was a great opportunity to experience the culture and meet treasured elders in the community. Sadly, her father was also a narcissist and a pedophile. Esperanza’s mother was too focused on her career as a teacher to recognize the signs abuse and get help for her daughter. Ms. Phoenix first acted professionally as an extra in Little House on the Prairie. She didnt know her father was getting paid for it, but she enjoyed getting to meet Micheal Landon and play with the kids in the cast.
